Dangerous Flights

As many of you know for the last two years I’ve been on a reality show documentary series called Dangerous Flights.  The show has been aired in Canada and 128 countries around the world but not in the US, much to the dismay of my friends who want to watch it and make fun of me.  Well their dreams have come true because not only has the show has been picked up by the Smithsonian channel, which will air it in November, but someone has uploaded a lot of the episodes onto YouTube.  So if you want to see some of the show and laugh at me go to YouTube and search for Dangerous Flights, you will be able to see almost all of season one there. Above is episode 2 where I am introduced to the show.  Enjoy and feel free to comment on how stupid I look!

  • I have watched Season 1 online, in one day and loved it.

Where can I watch season 2? It’s like a big black information hole. I can see the episodes on the site, but none will play.

Now, I am addicted and between my own voice over sessions, I love to watch this series.

    Hi kerry,

I just love this show. I currently drive trucks but my passion is aviation. I’m working on getting my PPL fixed wing bu its bloody expensive! I have season 1 and the 1st 2 episodes of season 2 on my ipad and listen to them while I attend the steering wheel. 9 hours hours of it. i love it, fantastic. I cant wait to see the rest of season 2.

Say hi to Hooler Girl for me.

Thanks Kerry, keep it safe, stay safe.

When is your book out? I would love to read it.

Check out the series on You tube. Worst Place To Be A Pilot.

    Hey Kerry,

Damn I’m envious of you guys. I learned how to fly a plane before I knew how to drive a car (soloed and everything) but then dropped out of it because of ….”distractions”, after watching the series with yourself and the boys, I wish I finished my licence. Maybe start putting up some of your flights on youtube…that way I can live vicariously through you!

Is your kid still flying? Keep safe and happy landings!

Some episodes are available as torrents. But here it is September 2015, and season 2 is, for the most part, a black hole. Come on Canadians! Share with your Southern bretheren!

Do you know if any episode of season 2 has the scene where you and Claire fly to the dropzone and we’re all sitting there to greet you?

I love the show dangerous flights. I would love to get my PPL but for now I fly just about any PC simulator on the market… I really miss the show and would like to know WHEN can we expect new episodes of Dangerous Flights???? I have seen Randy and Cory on a discovery
Airplane repo episode but I really miss the dangerous flights show… All you guys are nuts to fly a single engine over the Atlantic, but if I had the experience and professionalism you couldn’t stop me from doing it either.

Actually having trouble finding season 2 here in Canada too. For some reason, Discovery Channel seems to want nothing to do with the show and wiped it right off their site. Only about half of them are on youtube.

Hi Kerry, so it’s 2016 and still nothing. It’s like the show never existed. I swear i have searched every corner of the internet, and nothing. Sup with that???
We are all dying to see season 2.
I’m not in the US though. I’m in Trinidad and Tobago. There was actually an episode when yall came here too. That was awesome.

    • I know, it’s frustrating! It looks like someone has uploaded two episodes of season two on YouTube but that’s it. I’m still hoping that both seasons make it to Netflix someday. I do hope to make it back to Trinidad and Tobago someday. We only got to spend a few hours there but it looked like a great place!

I have watched every episode of Dangerous Fights.
    I am in Canada.
    Fantastic series!

Any plans on a new season???

    • Thanks for your support Francine! We all had a great time making the show but it looks like 2 seasons are going to be all we make. But all is not lost, there is a possibility of a new show very in the works.

You certainly don’t look stupid! I don’t know how you or any of the pilots are able to fly aircraft that you don’t know to be in top shape. Also you don’t just fly these planes a few hours but over crazy distances and in risky conditions; even where they shouldn’t been flown! Pretty ballsy! The one complaint I have is when you threatened to pour water on your daughter’s head while she flew. I realize that you were trying to get her to fly with distractions but I found it offensive and disrespectful. I thought she did an unbelievably amazing job flying and landing a plane without IFR training and without any experience on that plane. She was amazingly calm through all of it. Good for her!

    • You are correct that Claire did a fantastic job on that trip! On the subject of distracting Claire with the water bottle you should read Ernest Gahnn’s “Fate is the Hunter” in it he describes how one of his instructors used to light matches and hold them under his nose while he was shooting approaches. Also, it’s a TV show and I have to make things interesting when I can!

      • Lance

Right, I should have thought of that! (… Making things interesting.) A lot better than lighting matches, that’s for sure. I enjoyed the show and wish there were more seasons. It’s funny, viewers only see snippets of your entire trips …. It must be difficult for an editor to go through many, many hours of recordings and reduce it to what we see on the show. But they did a great job as the show was very interesting; pretty well every minute. Thanks.

I guess this is one of the great times to be Canadian…Love dangerous flights.. Have a goal set to become a pilot next year

  • Scot Margerum

Man I was ok with this show but I am pissed off that Season 2 is not available here in the USA… I mean WTF three years and we don’t have season 2 and we also do not have a dvd that we can buy… since when does the USA censor content!?! … this is a ferry flying show for heaven’s sake …

…I got Season 1 on Amazon but no season 2… damn I feel cheated!

How can I get involved with something like this and what would be the cost to me . I hold a full uk ( easa ) pilots licence with night & uk instrument rates all current with medicals . I’m a divorcee who is self employed , free to go anywhere , no ties other than my house and I run a transport company in the uk called Wheels & Wings Logistics Limited. The only thing I don’t do commercially in the uk is fly because I don’t have a uk commercial certificate .
At the time I write I’ve been watching dangerous flights with great interest on Quest, a uk terrestrial/cable channel . Regards Simon ☀️

    • Hi Simon, sorry for the late response but I’ve been just super lazy lately. I hate to be negative but getting into ferrying aircraft, large or small, is difficult these days for a couple of reasons. Number one is that there just aren’t that many planes being sold as there used to be so there’s less work to go around. Another reason is that the insurance requirements have gone up meaning that they want you to have route experience before they will cover you. You have to have experience to get a job and you can’t get a job without experience. But nothing is impossible. Start by getting your commercial rating and then just keep plugging away. Even if you can’t get a job ferrying you still might stumble into something fun! Good luck!
